The Library building was requested in October 2018 by The Drifter, and in March of 2019, The Drifter, as well as a number of other volunteers, pooled stories to stock the library. The library sits near Denny in the H5 region of Ensō. The ground around the library has been similarly treated to be less boggy than the surrounding areas. The library is a tall building with plenty of windows for an optimal reading environment.
With a freshly stocked supply of books, the Library is now a hub for knowledge and entertainment, containing a vast assortment of survival books in addition to novels and children's stories. The Storyteller generously offered to store excess stock in the temple, in addition to the books physically kept at the library.
The initial library inventory was requested by The Drifter, with additional contributions by several other island inhabitants. The topics range from survival, cooking, and fiction. The new books are still being organized, so the catalog is not finalized at this time.
In addition to books, the library is also outfitted with the following:
◇ 1x Writing Desk ◇ 4x Chairs ◇ 5x Bookshelves (48x60 in) ◇ ≈10x Book Protectors ◇ ≈10x wax protectors | ◇ Numerous blank notebooks ◇ A variety of writing utensils ◇ Large rolls of parchment |
There are a few rules to the library, which Starflight will be enforcing to the best of his ability.
✦ Do not damage the library or books - Many people contributed time and stories to make the library what it is. Please respect that. You will be asked to replace anything you damage.
✦ Keep noise to a minimum - if you want to have a rowdy conversation, head over to Denny. The library is for studying. Exceptions made for library events.
✦ The library is still new, additional rules may be added as needed.
